Sun River 2018

For mid winter break, we headed up to Sun River for the week. As always, it did not disappoint! The kids had a blast spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa, all their cousins, skiing, and playing in the snow. This year we started with no snow on the ground and ended with a blizzard that made driving home very tricky. Liam stayed home with Grandma while Callie and I skied. Although it is always hard to be left behind, he loves his Grandma so much and they had an absolute blast together. I'm also realizing that she took all the pictures so I have very few with her...major bummer!

We celebrated these 2 boys on this trip.

When there is this many kids, you not only take over the whole run but there it is also very difficult to figure out which way to go....

Grandpa and his gang

Pretty soon we won't all fit on one couch.

Unfortunately our sister/dad ski day did not go as planned. Sarah took a spill the day before and was not able to ski with us for the rest of the trip

Birthday celebration

These 2 have a pretty crazy cool bond since we got to have Maya come to our house after school for her first 2 years of elementary school.

Grandpa is always willing to sit and read with one (or more) of them

The weather was kind of all over the place while we were there. One day we had about an hour of sun and took as many pictures as we could. The rest of the time it was either cloudy, snowing, windy, or just plain cold.

SUN!

This year's house was a walk away from the bridge. We spent an afternoon exploring while everyone else went to the pool (the pool ended up being too cold for my kiddos)

2 other ski days. It was so cold that we had to battle frost bite just to take the picture

Although it was cold, every day brought an over abundance of fresh, light, deep powder. It was so much fun to ski in.

This gang pretty much took over each run they went down

The hot tub was always fun and brought forth lots of shenanigans. Many dares and snow challenges between all the kids.

So thankful for Grandma for taking care of this sweet little boy. She took him on a lot of adventures and let him spend a lot of time exploring outside. Wish I would have got a picture of the 2 of them together.

The day off from skiing.

Once Sarah was out of the skiing section of the trip, Liam was glued to her! So thankful for caring and loving family. Makes it easier for me to spend the day skiing without him to know that his is so loved and well taken care of when I am gone.

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
