Easter

This year we had a very low key Easter. Mom had her last round of chemo this week and because of that, we celebrated Easter a week early with the Knowles family. It was an amazing day full of Easter egg hunts, bike riding, cookie decorating, and running around. It was perfect (it did help that we ended up with an absolutely gorgeous day!)! I, of course, took no pictures of the day......check Sarah's blog :-)
On Easter, we spent the day relaxing....just the four of us. We headed to church in the morning and while we were at church the Easter bunny came and hid a basket and eggs for Callie.
That tricky Easter bunny hid her basket behind the chair (a popular hide and seek location)

Checking out her Easter basket

Yum....jelly beans!

Some very silly glasses

The Easter bunny also hid a dozen plastic eggs around the house which contained Callie's lunch. She had SO much fun finding the eggs and opening them to see what the Easter bunny made her for lunch.

A bagel piece with strawberry cream cheese....a favorite!

Here's my lunch....

Liam slept through most of the egg hunt and basket hunt but was all smiles when he got up!

Callie then helped me put the pineapple on the ham

Taking a step back in time, we decorated eggs a week or so before. Callie had a blast deciding if the eggs were dark enough or if we needed to let them go a bit longer (the answer was always longer).
Dye is all mixed and eggs are ready to be dyed

Liam kind of slept through the whole process....

Grandma and Grandpa got her a magnifying glass. She had to inspect every egg before she deemed it was good!

The finished product!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
