Easter Weekend

We had a very exciting Easter weekend. Washington ended up with some amazing weather and we spent the whole weekend outside in some form or another. For Easter the Easter bunny left a trail of eggs for Callie to follow to find her hidden Easter basket then we headed out to church.
From church we headed down to my parents house to enjoy some amazing sunshine.
Look mom! The Easter bunny brought me new sunglasses and a camera! It's what I always wanted! (and yes, she is wearing Santa pajamas)

We got a quick family shot in before we got dirty!

And we attempted a Callie shot - we thought putting her next to the flowers would be a pretty picture, instead they ended up just being a massive distraction! O well

While Callie was napping we filled a couple (pretty big understatement) eggs and hid them out in the yard! I think Grandpa will be finding them for the next year. There were A LOT of eggs.

Waking up from naps and cuddling with Grandma

Bubbles were by far a highlight of the day

Hunting for eggs - her Easter shoes didn't last very long - ha! Went back to our old croc standbys

Maya and Bennett searching for the eggs! They did a good job leaving some for their younger cousins

Overall, this is a very successful cousin shot - we are just happy if they are all sitting next to each other and not crying....we will work on looking at the camera another time!

More egg hunting

Playing with the giant balls outside

Being able to blow the bubbles by herself was a highlight for Callie - she opted out of the dying of eggs and other activities just to blow more bubbles

Clara joining in in the bubble blowing

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

7 Months

This month seemed to have flown by just as quickly as all the others. It's crazy to think she has been part of our family for seven months already. We have had our first real battle (and are still battling) with a never ending cold. She has been a trooper though - although I wish that we could do more to help her. Here's what is new (things have moved very quickly this month): She is up on all fours. She seems to be taking after her cousin Clara, where she can crawl backwards but not yet forwards - which can be very frustrating as the toy she is trying to get to seems to just keep getting farther and farther away. After she learned to get up on all fours, she very quickly learned to go from all fours to sitting. We have yet to find any real foods that she will turn down, although green beans appears to be her favorite so far. When feeding her green beans she will lean forward VERY far and open her mouth as wide as can be just to get the next bite. We can't seem to get

10 Months

So, I am a bit behind. It is officially the end of the school year and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with learning the new job and the close of the school year. Much different from the classroom. When I took Callie in for her nine month appointment her pediatrician checked her ears (which looked totally fine) then made the comment - I don't mean to jinx you but has Callie had an ear infection yet? To which my response was no (she had a super mild one that they gave us medicine for just because we were getting on a plane to Pitt) - in my mind, my response was "no, but we have had everything else imaginable"! The newest thing: last Friday when Callie got up for the day, her eyes were swollen shut. Turns out she had pink eye which was no fun. Many rough nights later she seems to finally be getting back to her happy go lucky self. Here are the newest things about Callie: She continues to get quicker walking with a push toy. Her teachers love watching her outside at da
