Thanksgiving Weekend

This weekend was a perfect weekend! Full of family, football, and food. It's been a while since I have posted so this post is going to include a lot!
This weekend started off with a lovely time with family at the Knowles household. It was wonderful and chaotic all at once.
We decided to head over early to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa before all the cousins made it. Callie got there early enough to help grandpa stuff the turkey - a bit timid at first but then "helped" grandpa put the stuffing into the turkey...one piece at a time...very helpful

Clara is an adorable little girl full of silly facial expressions - here's one

And another....

Coloring with Laurel

Callie gets very focused when she is coloring

Reading books with Grandpa - a much needed down time

Next, we headed over to our place in Hoodsport for some much needed R and R. The apple cup was on Friday. We, of course, had to show our school spirit.
Doing some window stickers with papa - showing our purple pride

Go Dawgs!

More coloring - one of Callie's current favorite things to do

We decided to use the opportunity to cut down a tree on our property - all Preston could talk about was how FREE it was! (you might remember our drama from last year)

Callie and Preston trying to find just the right tree - she is always the happiest when she is outside!

How about this tree mom?

Watching papa start to cut it down

After watching Preston, she wanted to jump in and help out

The prize!

Hanging with Aunt Kristine on the ATV

The newest family shot

The Sarions decided to come up for the night, Callie was in absolute HEAVEN! There was a ton of laughter!
Digging in the cold - there was mass confusion over who should wear which hat - so the girls decided to all trade.

Reading with Aunt Sarah - Maya was very attached to Callie's hat and wore it most of the day (with or without pants)

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
