Holiday Season

What a wonderful first Christmas!!
Callie was spoiled rotten by her grandparents, great gram, and aunts and uncles - and she, of course, was in heaven. We had 3 days to celebrate Christmas - and all of them were packed full of family and smiles.
We started Christmas Eve off by heading to church - Callie was quite intrigued by the glow sticks that were handed out during the service, then Preston and I made our traditional Christmas Eve dinner - sushi - YUM!
We spent Christmas morning in our pjs and opened a few gifts. Then we headed down to see the Knowles side of the family. After a wonderful dinner of ham, we headed down to Vancouver to spend a few days with the Graham side of the family. A great time!

First present - she was a pro at opening it with her mouth

Hanging with Daddy in pjs

Cousin shot - Callie got to lounge on all the others

Presents sure are exhausting!

Callie's new favorite person
So, Callie is normally VERY shy with people but the second she met Gram she was all smiles! (she even let Gram get her out of her car seat - no warm up time at all)

Pretty impressive Grammy - all kids are ready for bed, yet are all smiles for Gram

Playtime in Vancouver

Have I mentioned that she has found her feet - and yes, in case you were wondering, she can get them to her mouth

Cute hats ladies!

We had a wonderful Christmas and we are still working on getting Callie back to her normal schedule!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
