4 Months!

Wow!

Well, Callie is officially four months old - amazing how quickly time can fly.
Here's some updates on our little bug:
  • She weighs in at 14 pounds (75 percentile) and is a whopping 26 in long (95 percentile)
  • She has great control over her hands now. She purposely reaches for toys and put them in her mouth - she has just started grabbing her feet and rolling over on her side - can't quite make it all the way around but we are getting close!
  • She smiles all the time (at least in settings she feels comfortable in) - she is a bit shy in new settings and just kind of looks around and tries to take it all in.
  • She has just started giggling! SO EXCITING!
  • She continues to be a great sleeper (don't worry Amy and Sarah, she still gets up once a night) and gets up once to eat. Although she continues to be a power napper - only napping for 20 - 30 minutes each time.
  • Her legs are super strong - and now prefers to stand when in people's laps.
Here's some recent pics of our wonderful little girl:

We are in a bit of a drooling stage..

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

7 Months

This month seemed to have flown by just as quickly as all the others. It's crazy to think she has been part of our family for seven months already. We have had our first real battle (and are still battling) with a never ending cold. She has been a trooper though - although I wish that we could do more to help her. Here's what is new (things have moved very quickly this month): She is up on all fours. She seems to be taking after her cousin Clara, where she can crawl backwards but not yet forwards - which can be very frustrating as the toy she is trying to get to seems to just keep getting farther and farther away. After she learned to get up on all fours, she very quickly learned to go from all fours to sitting. We have yet to find any real foods that she will turn down, although green beans appears to be her favorite so far. When feeding her green beans she will lean forward VERY far and open her mouth as wide as can be just to get the next bite. We can't seem to get

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.
