One Month Old

It is hard to believe that our baby girl is officially one month old! Amazing!
She continues to be a happy, active baby. When she cries, it is always for a reason (although we are not always quick to figure out what the reason is, we are getting better) - either she needs a diaper, food, or to sleep (sometimes she just needs a hug too). Preston is officially back to work, it has been fabulous having him home for so long and he and Callie have truly bonded during that time.
We don't have any official stats for one month (she doesn't need to go back to the doctor until 2 months) but she continues to grow and get longer by the minute. We are continually learning new things about her:
  • She LOVES baths! If we would let her, she would just sit in the tub all day - and afterwards she is always relaxed and calm.
  • She is a fabulous traveler. We recently got the opportunity to be a part of Adam and Rachel's wedding. Callie was fabulous on the long car ride (the 4 hour car ride took us much longer due to having to stop and feed - although Preston always was able to find a Burgerville for us to stop and feed at - ahh, how life has changed), slept wonderfully in the hotel, and loved all the attention she got from friends and family.
  • She continues to be a wonderful sleeper and will go for 4 - 5 hour stretches. She wakes us grunting, not crying and will spend 5 minutes stretching before she decides it is time to eat.
  • Feeding has had its challenges but we seem to be back on track.....(keeping my fingers crossed)
  • She is much more attentive these days and loves to stare at people and things around her. I took her to church and she was fabulous the whole time. Even though she was super tired, she refused to sleep and spent the whole time looking around.
  • She loves tummy time and keeps getting stronger every day!

    Often times, I wish that I could sleep as good as (or anywhere) she can!

Getting growy

Now that Liam has arrived, it's becoming more and more obvious how big and mature Callie is! I keep telling her that she needs to stop getting so big.....her response? "No, I want to get growy like you so I can open the blinds and drive all by myself!"......hmmm, not quite ready for that! But this weekend was a BIG weekend for Callie, Saturday I was feeding Liam and Callie was changing her babies when she ran off to the bathroom. After a couple minutes Preston ran to check on her and we found that she decided she was done with her pacifier and was throwing it into the trash (we had previously gotten rid of it until we found out she was afraid of the dark, and on our pediatrician's advice, gave it back to her after a month of no sleep). We went with it and Saturday she had her first pacifier free night......it was rough! Unfortunately Preston had to deal with the brunt of it, as I was up with Liam. Introducing.....Callie Lynn Graham

Our baby girl has finally come to join our family! Callie was born on August 10th at 6:34 pm., weighing in at 7 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 19.5 inches long. She is a absolute delight and Preston and I can't seem to get enough of her. Although the laboring went quickly, the delivery proved a bit trickier for me and we ended up needing to deliver by C-section. Callie was extremely healthy and was ready to leave the hospital even before I was! Due to a few complications, Preston, Callie, and I ended up staying at the hospital for 5 days. Luckily Preston has so much time off of work - don't know what we would have done if he needed to go back after a week. We can't seem to say enough positive things about the nursing staff at St. Joseph's hospital. They were amazing! Although it was not fun staying at the hospital that long (especially since we only packed our bag for one night) we got a lot of extra help with nursing and overall care of Callie. Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.
