Thanksgiving

Thankgiving was amazing! We managed to enjoy family, play football, go hiking, go beaching, and overall just relax.
Our Thanksgiving started out at the Knowles house complete with our first annual flag football game; Grunders vs. the Broncos. So thankful that everyone got out on the field and there were many, many giggles and fun had by all.

No smiles at first....a bit apprehensive at the beginning but she got into it very quickly

After the game, we had an amazing dinner complete with an actual kids table. We started some new and amazing traditions this year! After dinner we headed to our cabin and spent the rest of the rainy weekend at the cabin. We hiked a bit (although it was so wet!), enjoyed some ice cream, and tried to find crabs at the beach.
Callie was the only one brave enough to venture into the cave. The picture doesn't show clearly how much rain is pouring off the moss and down in front of the cave

Makes my heart melt!

Parts of the trail were very, very flooded. Most kids would love splashing and running through it...Liam took some convincing

The day we headed back home we stopped in the woods on the way home and cut down the "perfect" Christmas tree

Oh....and we had some ice cream :)

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.
