Thanksgiving

Thankgiving was amazing! We managed to enjoy family, play football, go hiking, go beaching, and overall just relax.
Our Thanksgiving started out at the Knowles house complete with our first annual flag football game; Grunders vs. the Broncos. So thankful that everyone got out on the field and there were many, many giggles and fun had by all.

No smiles at first....a bit apprehensive at the beginning but she got into it very quickly

After the game, we had an amazing dinner complete with an actual kids table. We started some new and amazing traditions this year! After dinner we headed to our cabin and spent the rest of the rainy weekend at the cabin. We hiked a bit (although it was so wet!), enjoyed some ice cream, and tried to find crabs at the beach.
Callie was the only one brave enough to venture into the cave. The picture doesn't show clearly how much rain is pouring off the moss and down in front of the cave

Makes my heart melt!

Parts of the trail were very, very flooded. Most kids would love splashing and running through it...Liam took some convincing

The day we headed back home we stopped in the woods on the way home and cut down the "perfect" Christmas tree

Oh....and we had some ice cream :)

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
