Ten Months

Here we go....another month down, another month closer to one! Wow, time really does fly by.
Here is our goofball of a boy:

  • He has moved very quickly from learning to crawl to almost walking. He can and will stand on anything. He will walk along furniture and uses his push toy to get from one side of the house to the other. He will push furniture around and has taken one step by himself already (although it was by complete accident).
  • He can stand now with confidence! I'm no longer nervous when he lets go of things.
  • He is very noisy and will make his presence known in a room very quickly.
  • He is starting to get a bit shy around strangers and will often play coy. Along with this shyness, he is starting to get a bit attached to Preston and I and is starting to not want to be held by others.
  • His sleeping has become a bit more consistent (although I am sure I am just totally and completely jinxing myself by saying that). For the most part, he sleeps through the night (7-7) and I'm finally feeling like I am no longer in a fog.
  • His sign language is getting good and he can sign more and all done, we are working on please and thank you.
  • He is starting to have purpose to his play. He will try to put objects into things and will try to find them when Callie and I hide them. He will purposely open things and put toys inside and then close it back up.
  • He truly recognizes many words - milk and no being the most familiar with him :-) He has no down but often will laugh and continue whatever he is doing (not boding well for Preston and I).
He has officially become a boy and is no longer my little baby!

Aunt Sarah has taught him how to stand up in his crib and he is so happy about it! :-)
It takes him a bit longer to fall asleep now - the whole process involves some jumping in bed before he crashes

And this picture about sums up his personality....

We had a day off preschool and enjoyed a cold, cold, cold trip to the zoo with Amy and Clara (Liam looks thrilled - ha!)

Buddies!

Callie gets very upset if you go and get Liam out of his bed without her - she has become his morning wake up....he loves it (sometimes). It is a bit shocking....involves an immediate light turned on and then a "good morning Buddy" as loud as she can and then she crawls onto his crib to wait for him to meet her (I swear she would crawl in if I let her)

A daily occurrence......he has found a great way to entertain himself during cooking. It involves taking EVERYTHING out of the cupboards that he can reach. I've had to move some things around :-)

Who needs toys when you have a box?!

We headed to the Children's museum which was super fun because Liam was able to get out and explore

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
