Nine Months!

Here we go again....another month gone and another month closer to one year old.
He seems to have grown very quickly this month. He is a happy, giggly, loving, little boy!
  • He now weighs 22 pounds 6 ounces (holy cow....so big!) and is 30.5 inches tall (above the 98 percentile for height). He is officially too heavy for his infant car seat and has been moved up to the larger car seat. We were hoping that would make him more content in the car but it has not....
  • He has started babbling a bit (very loudly). It doesn't seem to bother him where we are and will do it in the library, the store, anywhere!
  • He is a social butterfly. Anywhere, anytime, he draws strangers in with his big blue eyes and his super cute smile. It doesn't seem to take much :)
  • He is obsessed with his blanket. He snuggles, loves, bites, plays...whatever with it. We didn't realize how attached he was to it until it needed to be washed and the washer was broken! We quickly fixed it :)
  • I've said this over and over but he is in love with his sister!! Giggles all the time around her (I love it!).
  • He has a few words he truly recognizes, milk being the most obvious. Be sure not to say that around him unless you have the bottle ready to go! He recognizes his sister's name and mom and dad. He can almost sign 'more' and thinks it is hilarious when he tries.

  • He has moved very quickly from crawling to standing on everything and now when he lets go he can keep his balance for a couple seconds....it won't be long!
  • His iron level has shown to be a bit low (on the low side of normal) at his last appointment, which doesn't make a ton of sense based on the amount of formula he drinks, so he now takes iron everyday. Luckily he takes it very well.
  • His eating has got a bit better since we reduced his milk intake this last week or so. He eats mostly finger foods and always seems to want whatever his sister has.
We headed down to a local park to take a nice walk - tried to get some pictures but they weren't super successful :)

Helping with laundry while sister is at preschool

I get about a half an hour of just Liam time before Callie wakes up in the morning....a great bonding time!

We had a couple really nice fall days recently so we headed to a park to play (Liam napped while Callie played)

We also have had some rainy fall days which, after a couple days requires me to get out of the house, so we headed to a local gym for some open gym time to run, play and get our wiggles out.
The trampoline and foam pit were a big hit

Liam was happy to get out of the stroller!

Here's how Liam entertains himself while I cook :)

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
