6 Months

Eek! I'm a bit behind on this post!
Well, Liam is officially 6 months old - can you believe it?! He is an absolutely happy, excited, lovable little boy!
We are teething right now so our finger are CONSTANTLY in our mouth. I tried really hard to keep pulling them out and could never get him to keep them out of his mouth!

I had to include this picture, it is not a great picture but it truly captures how much Liam looks up to his sister! Ha!

Our little boy had made some huge changes this month:
  • He has grown a tremendous amount this month and weights almost 20 pounds (19 pounds 17 ounces - WOW!), He has very chunky thighs - so cute!
  • He picks his whole belly up during tummy time and if you catch him at the right time, he can somewhat pick his booty up.
  • He can rotate 360 degrees on his belly. Pretty much wherever his sister is in the room, he is facing!
  • He can now roll both directions and will move himself all over the room (especially to get to a particular toy).
  • He has gotten a bit of tough love in the sleeping department (sorry buddy!) because I am exhausted! He can truly put himself to sleep and is placed wide awake in his crib. He gets up once or twice in the middle of the night but will only require a pacifier popped back in (with much tough love).
  • His 2 bottom teeth have popped out - yay!
  • He continues to be a very portable boy and is often pulled all around to his sister's activities.
  • He is happy (unless he is hungry or tired) and loves to giggle and smile! (especially at his sister!)
  • He has started solid foods and is  proving to be a much pickier eater than his sister. He loves carrots, bananas, avocado and sweet potatoes. He does not like mangoes, squash, or peas and gets extremely upset if you keep trying it.
  • He can sit on his own but needs some pillows behind him as he will often tip over.
  • He LOVES his sister!! It is so fun to watch them at the dinner table - giggles at each other and smiles galore! (we will truly have our hands full with the two of them).
Here's some pictures from the last month:
Smiles for everyone!

Practicing his pushups

One of the best things of Callie's swim lessons was that they fell during Liam's nap time. I got snuggles for 2 weeks straight.

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Complete and Total Exhaustion

So, Callie has come down with a case of croup (good ol'daycare) and we had a VERY rough night on Sunday. She was up every 20 mins - hour coughing. Luckily Preston was home and we took turns with her - eventually I ended up sleeping with her in the chair (although she still woke up coughing every hour) because I didn't have to work on Monday. Needless to say, we were not a very exciting family Monday night. We were all in bed by 8 and Callie continued to get up a bit but not nearly as much as the night before. The last time I went in to see her was about 11 - the next thing I knew it was time for me to get up for work. When Preston got up, I made the comment "she slept better than on Sunday" and he just looked at me and laughed. Apparently, she got up a bunch in the middle in the night and I was just too exhausted to realize it. He said I was so out of it that one time I told him it was the rain, not Callie crying.....I'm going to choose my version of the story and...
