Hmm...

So we just got back from an amazing trip - full of family and celebration. Everything was absolutely amazing, so amazing that Preston and I realized that not only did we not take one picture the entire trip, but we didn't even pull the camera out of our suitcases - oops :-) We will try to get some pictures from other people.
Our trip to Kansas was absolutely perfect. We got to help celebrate a new, and beautiful marriage (congrats Taylor and Laura) and Callie got to meet another side of our family. We are so glad that she got to spend so much time with family and she, of course, LOVED being held by so many special people that love her! It was a wonderful celebration that we are so glad we could be a part of.
Callie is turning out to be quite the traveler. We tried really hard to keep her on Seattle time (which worked really well) and she slept in the hotel perfectly. The airplane trip was great. We got spoiled on the way there, as the flight was not totally full (apparently not much demand to Kansas City on a Thursday) so we got to take her car seat on the plane and she got her own seat - needless to say, she pretty much slept the whole way. The way back she sat on our laps and hardly made a peep (although didn't sleep super well).
Thank you to Katy and Preston for such an amazing time!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and  I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom.  Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles.  Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.
