Short Long Weekend

Preston decided to head up to Hoodsport for the long weekend (we made our own long weekend by taking Friday off) and  my mom and I decided to steal Maya and head down to meet my dad in Sun River. It was a lot of driving BUT a lot of relaxing - although one of us decided they didn't really want to sleep there - which then, of course, caused the other not to sleep.
Callie had an amazing time with Grandma and Grandpa's undivided attention and LOVED having Maya with her. It was so much fun to watch Maya interact with Callie - she is an amazing, caring, and silly little girl. One of my favorite parts of the weekend happened when Callie and Maya were eating dinner. Maya was a little distracted from eating (I know, big surprise!) and was playing with Grandma's phone case. She was driving it around the table like a car, and I am not sure why, but Callie found it SO funny! Every time it came close to her, she would giggle, which would cause Maya to giggle and then the cycle continued. It was so cute.
Callie didn't really dig the snow too much (probably because she couldn't move with all her layers of clothes) but sat and watched us make a snow turtle (with a horn in the middle of its head - Maya's idea to add another rock). She loved swimming in the pool though - I can't wait to take her this summer. Both of the girls were troopers in the car (I think Callie just liked having someone in the back seat with her) - and even though I was exhausted on Monday, it was a great weekend!
Couldn't really move much of anything
The only time Maya would actually stop for a picture - had to snap it quick
First time in swings and she is crammed in it with all her layers of clothes! Poor girl!
 Ready for bed
Grandpa was given the choice between taking Maya to the potty/getting her ready for the hot tub or to feed Callie - Callie didn't really know what was going on
First time in the pool and loving it! (I take that back - we tried one time before this for Bennett's birthday = too many kids, too much noise and lots of crying - therefore I don't count that time)

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

We are now a family of 4 pretty impressive bike riders.

Sun River 2018

For mid winter break, we headed up to Sun River for the week. As always, it did not disappoint! The kids had a blast spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa, all their cousins, skiing, and playing in the snow. This year we started with no snow on the ground and ended with a blizzard that made driving home very tricky. Liam stayed home with Grandma while Callie and I skied. Although it is always hard to be left behind, he loves his Grandma so much and they had an absolute blast together. I'm also realizing that she took all the pictures so I have very few with her...major bummer! We celebrated these 2 boys on this trip.  When there is this many kids, you not only take over the whole run but there it is also very difficult to figure out which way to go.... Grandpa and his gang Pretty soon we won't all fit on one couch. Unfortunately our sister/dad ski day did not go as planned. Sarah took a spill the day before and was not able to ski with us for ...
