I try very hard....

I try very hard to live in the moment with Callie but often find myself occupied with other thoughts. But then I wlll have moments where she and I will be cuddling on the couch, sitting across from each other on the ground or having a rolling race across the living room floor, where everything catches up with me and I realize how truly blessed I am to have such an amazing family! Callie has been such a wonderful blessing that always seems to catch me by surprise.
  • I love how she prefers a waterbottle, washcloth, or bottle lid over any toy
  • I love how she always wakes up with a smile and the kicking of her feet, no matter how short or long it has been
  • I love how we can be sitting in the car and out of nowhere she starts giggling to herself
  • I love how, no matter what she is doing, when she hears the key in the front door she stops and watches and starts smiling for dad (me too!)
  • I love how she flirts with some people and is wary of others
  • I love how when you put her on a big bed she breaks out in a HUGE smile and tons of giggles
  • I love how she lights up when you turn water on - whether its the bath or just the sink, she thinks it is funny
  • I love how she could sit and look out the window all day if you let her
  • I love that she excercieses her right to refuse
  • I love how when she spills food on her tray she thinks it is time to finger paint

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

We are now a family of 4 pretty impressive bike riders.

Sun River 2018

For mid winter break, we headed up to Sun River for the week. As always, it did not disappoint! The kids had a blast spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa, all their cousins, skiing, and playing in the snow. This year we started with no snow on the ground and ended with a blizzard that made driving home very tricky. Liam stayed home with Grandma while Callie and I skied. Although it is always hard to be left behind, he loves his Grandma so much and they had an absolute blast together. I'm also realizing that she took all the pictures so I have very few with her...major bummer! We celebrated these 2 boys on this trip.  When there is this many kids, you not only take over the whole run but there it is also very difficult to figure out which way to go.... Grandpa and his gang Pretty soon we won't all fit on one couch. Unfortunately our sister/dad ski day did not go as planned. Sarah took a spill the day before and was not able to ski with us for ...
