A Knowles Vacation

During the kids mid winter break, we headed out to Mt. Bachelor to enjoy a week of skiing, family, and swimming. Although none of the husbands were able to come, it was very nice being able to spend some Knowles time together, especially after a long and stressful year. It was the perfect week to enjoy each other and thank God for everything that he has blessed us with this year.
The drive was long but I was thankful to have my mom travel with me!

Mom was kind enough to take all 6 kids for the day so we could enjoy a dad/daughter ski day. We lucked out with a beautiful, warm sunny day.

The next day we took all the kids (except Liam) to the mountain. Not really knowing what to expect, we were truly surprised by the kids! They lasted almost all day, there were no tears, everyone was smiling and having fun! It was so fun, a glimpse into, hopefully, future ski vacations.

My little ski buddy! She was a rock star. I couldn't believe how well she did - after only 2 other times being on skis. She was extremely timid at the beginning and wanted to hold my hand the whole time but once she got more comfortable she was good to go.

Getting growy

Now that Liam has arrived, it's becoming more and more obvious how big and mature Callie is! I keep telling her that she needs to stop getting so big.....her response? "No, I want to get growy like you so I can open the blinds and drive all by myself!"......hmmm, not quite ready for that! But this weekend was a BIG weekend for Callie, Saturday I was feeding Liam and Callie was changing her babies when she ran off to the bathroom. After a couple minutes Preston ran to check on her and we found that she decided she was done with her pacifier and was throwing it into the trash (we had previously gotten rid of it until we found out she was afraid of the dark, and on our pediatrician's advice, gave it back to her after a month of no sleep). We went with it and Saturday she had her first pacifier free night......it was rough! Unfortunately Preston had to deal with the brunt of it, as I was up with Liam. Not much sleep in the graham house! We were motivated though.....Sunda...

Mothers Day Weekend

We had amazing weather for Mother's Day weekend and tried to enjoy every minute of the summer. On Sunday, Callie and I ran the color run. A 5k through Seattle which involved a lot of dust and color. It was a lot of fun and I was super proud of her and how she pushed herself. Before the race. Shirts are still white and hair is still normal color. We ran with one of Callie's good friends and her mom. Bubbles! That was a highlight for Callie, she loved running through the bubbles. Done! Color and dust everywhere! We spent Saturday with Katy and Dennis and explored Renton and a local beach and park. Callie and Katy The gang! Saturday was so beautiful that we actually went home and the kids ran in the sprinklers and played in the bathing suits all day.

Introducing.....Callie Lynn Graham

Our baby girl has finally come to join our family! Callie was born on August 10th at 6:34 pm., weighing in at 7 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 19.5 inches long. She is a absolute delight and Preston and I can't seem to get enough of her. Although the laboring went quickly, the delivery proved a bit trickier for me and we ended up needing to deliver by C-section. Callie was extremely healthy and was ready to leave the hospital even before I was! Due to a few complications, Preston, Callie, and I ended up staying at the hospital for 5 days. Luckily Preston has so much time off of work - don't know what we would have done if he needed to go back after a week. We can't seem to say enough positive things about the nursing staff at St. Joseph's hospital. They were amazing! Although it was not fun staying at the hospital that long (especially since we only packed our bag for one night) we got a lot of extra help with nursing and overall care of Callie.
