5 Months!

Our little man is growing up so quickly!

  • He is growing super fast! All of a sudden he has chunky thighs and an even chunkier chin. Apparently he is trying to grow into his head :-)
  • He has decided that feeding would be better with a bottle and has decided that breastfeeding is too much work. And he has also decided to no longer sleep through the night - and gets up twice to either eat or just get snuggles! The snuggles are nice but I'd sure like to get a good night's sleep!
  • We have had a series of very hot days which has caused our house to be extremely hot at night. Which then caused one little boy to get to sleep naked - no jammies and no swaddle. Therefore, he no longer sleeps with a swaddle (which has also not helped the sleeping).

  • Liam can now roll from his back to his stomach but refuses to roll from his stomach to his back. He now sleeps on his side/stomach.
  • He loves being outside and around other people. He seems to be a bit of a ham - enjoys the attention.
  • He is a very easy boy to be put to sleep - naps only take about 5-10 minutes and bedtime about the same. He only naps 30-40 minutes at a time but, for the most part, wakes up happy. I guess you could say, he plays hard and crashes!
  • He is getting very strong and is starting to sit up by himself a bit (not just in the bumbo).
He's very excited about being able to stand in the bouncer - he gets to be at his sister's eye level.

Callie loves to help out! She will change diapers and constantly ask to feed him. (he is obviously very happy - half asleep)

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

9 Months

It's hard to believe that in 3 months our beautiful daughter will be 1 year old! How fast time flies (and how quickly she changes). Here's some updates (on our very big bug): She weighs in at a whopping 20 lb 13 oz (81% percentile) and continues to be VERY long, measuring in at 29.75 inches (98% percentile). Again, we are not sure who she got that gene from. She now not only can get herself down from the standing position but she also has had a few moments when she has stood totally by herself. On Mother's Day she stood for a good 5 seconds all by herself. Daycare tells us that she now uses other kids heads to help herself stand up (sorry!). She can also walk along the couch or another long piece of furniture. Today I was cooking dinner (Callie is often very content playing in the kitchen with "non toys" while I cook) and I looked over and she was pushing the kitchen chair across the floor. I was so excited, I made her do it again so I could video tape it ...
