4 Months!

Time continues to fly by (very, very quickly). Our little boy is now four months old and growing bigger each day!

  • He now weighs 14 pounds and 11 ounces (31% tile) and is 25 inches long (55% tile). His head is giant (90% tile), Preston claims it's because he has such a big brain!
  • Although he can flip from his stomach to his back, he has decided it's not that cool and is much more fun for mommy and daddy to flip him over.
  • He just started rolling from his back to his side - almost all the way over!
  • He has found his voice and has realized that the only way to be heard over his sister is to be VERY loud. He just kind of screams and giggles and then screams again (over and over and over again!).
  • Cars are not his favorite thing and likes to voice his displeasure often.
  • By far, his sister is his favorite person in the entire world! He can instantly go from crying to laughing in about 1 second when he sees his sister. He will constantly stop whatever he is doing and will track her across the room.
  • He is smiley, smiley, and giggly! (I love it!)
  • He can reach and grab toys and put them in his mouth. He will often try to shove more than one thing in his mouth at a time.
  • He sleeps through the night on most nights (fabulous) but will still only nap about 40-45 minutes at a time.
This is where he gets stuck (from his back to his front) - should be soon now.....

I love this little boy!

Hmm...which is better.....pacifier or giraffe?! I'll go with both!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

9 Months

It's hard to believe that in 3 months our beautiful daughter will be 1 year old! How fast time flies (and how quickly she changes). Here's some updates (on our very big bug): She weighs in at a whopping 20 lb 13 oz (81% percentile) and continues to be VERY long, measuring in at 29.75 inches (98% percentile). Again, we are not sure who she got that gene from. She now not only can get herself down from the standing position but she also has had a few moments when she has stood totally by herself. On Mother's Day she stood for a good 5 seconds all by herself. Daycare tells us that she now uses other kids heads to help herself stand up (sorry!). She can also walk along the couch or another long piece of furniture. Today I was cooking dinner (Callie is often very content playing in the kitchen with "non toys" while I cook) and I looked over and she was pushing the kitchen chair across the floor. I was so excited, I made her do it again so I could video tape it ...
