3 Months

Well - it looks like our little boy is three months now! I can't believe how quickly things are moving!

Here is an update on him:
  • He is growing every single day! I think he recently went through a growth spurt as he no longer looks like a newborn but looks, instead, like a little boy! The women in our church nursery comment every week on how much he changes each time they see him and it is so true. (If I could just slow down time.....)
  • He smiles all the time and has just recently found how loud his voice is. He cooes but also will alter his tone - almost like he is having a conversation with you.
  • He can roll over from his stomach to his back about 75% of the time.
  • He is much more interested in people and faces than toys - I'm sure that will change quickly. No toys seem to really capture his attention (besides the light up sun).
  • His sister is, by far, his favorite person! He will track her all the way across the room. He will stop whatever he is doing and just watch her. Now, if we could get her as interested in him :-)
  • He is a miserable (miserable!!) napper right now. He only will stay down for about 30-40 minutes at a time (amazing how productive I can now be in 30 minutes!). Due to those short naps, he goes down about every hour and a half. He is a great (great!!) nighttime sleeper. Typically he only gets up about one time although the last two nights, he has slept all the way through.
  • He continues to be a great eater! (as you can tell by his growth)
I tried to get him talking but he shuts down every time the camera comes on - here's the best I could get:

Rolling over:

We have been enjoying our moments of sun this month - spending as much time as we have been able to in the sun.
Our handsome little boy....(so serious!)

Practicing some tummy time outside in the shade

Callie has loved helping take care of Liam. She loves to take his diaper off and LOVES to help him with his bottle.

Sister snuggles!

Pure joy!

He is getting very strong

Callie teaching Liam some new songs :-)

We spent Mothers Day at the horse races with the Sarions. Liam slept the most of the time!

What to do when it rains?.....jump in the puddles and ride your bike of course!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

9 Months

It's hard to believe that in 3 months our beautiful daughter will be 1 year old! How fast time flies (and how quickly she changes). Here's some updates (on our very big bug): She weighs in at a whopping 20 lb 13 oz (81% percentile) and continues to be VERY long, measuring in at 29.75 inches (98% percentile). Again, we are not sure who she got that gene from. She now not only can get herself down from the standing position but she also has had a few moments when she has stood totally by herself. On Mother's Day she stood for a good 5 seconds all by herself. Daycare tells us that she now uses other kids heads to help herself stand up (sorry!). She can also walk along the couch or another long piece of furniture. Today I was cooking dinner (Callie is often very content playing in the kitchen with "non toys" while I cook) and I looked over and she was pushing the kitchen chair across the floor. I was so excited, I made her do it again so I could video tape it ...

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...
