Halloween

This year we headed over to Amy's to celebrate Halloween. She has the perfect neighborhood for trick or treating. Callie loved being around all the other kids and was very content to be outside walking around. I didn't take her up to the houses at the beginning but she started to complain when all the other kids were leaving her. She she started up to the houses with the other kids - although she had some pretty weird looks for the people who were trying to give her candy - needless to say - very happy we didn't come home with any candy. Overall it was a pretty good night, diaper rash and all! (She just recently found a love for oranges, and I didn't think too much about giving her them everyday that is until she came home from daycare on Halloween with raging diaper rash. A bit whiny that night, but really, who wouldn't be?!)
I forgot my camera, so Shauna ended up being the photographer for the night - sorry forgot to tell you Shauna!
Callie's favorite books are the Olivia books so she decided to be Olivia for Halloween.
At her daycare, after nap time they get all the kids dressed in their costumes then head out to the business park and have a Halloween parade. Callie had a blast!
They put her dress on backwards at daycare BUT I was not going to say anything - I would not like to try to get 12 toddlers all dressed at the same time!

This is Callie's favorite teacher, Miss Alycia. Callie loves her! When the transition to the toddler room was happening, Callie leaned a lot of Alycia and we are so appreciative of how much love she gets back from her!

The trick or treating gang

Preston still wasn't feeling up for a night out so it was just mommy and Callie. We sure missed him!

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

9 Months

It's hard to believe that in 3 months our beautiful daughter will be 1 year old! How fast time flies (and how quickly she changes). Here's some updates (on our very big bug): She weighs in at a whopping 20 lb 13 oz (81% percentile) and continues to be VERY long, measuring in at 29.75 inches (98% percentile). Again, we are not sure who she got that gene from. She now not only can get herself down from the standing position but she also has had a few moments when she has stood totally by herself. On Mother's Day she stood for a good 5 seconds all by herself. Daycare tells us that she now uses other kids heads to help herself stand up (sorry!). She can also walk along the couch or another long piece of furniture. Today I was cooking dinner (Callie is often very content playing in the kitchen with "non toys" while I cook) and I looked over and she was pushing the kitchen chair across the floor. I was so excited, I made her do it again so I could video tape it ...
