More Summer Fun

So, Callie and I have been very busy lately - I feel like we are trying to cram as much as we can into the last few days of my summer break. It's hard to believe I will be going back to work on Monday! We have spent most of our time outside playing in the sprinkler, sand, or drawing with chalk. We also have spent a great deal of time at the playground.
Reading with Papa!

I love this picture!

Playing at the park. This (besides the slide) is by far her favorite feature of the playground. I have to confess, I didn't know what it did until we went to the park with Aunt Sarah. The bells play music when you hit them.

Callie and I headed out to Lopez Island to visit all the happy campers. A long but very fun day! Next year, we WILL be camping! Callie loved the ferry.

We spent most of the time on the deck of the ferry entertaining everyone out there.

Text from me: "do I need to bring a bathing suit?"
Amy: "No! No one goes in the water - its too cold"
Fast forward a few days - guess who we couldn't keep out of the water...Callie! The rest of the kiddos were quick to follow. Callie and Maya ended up in underwear and t-shirts. Lesson? Bring a bathing suit!

Guess who was the messiest child? hmm.....

We put this paper up on the house for her birthday party and now we can't keep her away. I think we might need to keep the paper up forever - or just paint the house in chalkboard paint!

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...

Bikes

We are now a family of 4 pretty impressive bike riders.

Sun River 2018

For mid winter break, we headed up to Sun River for the week. As always, it did not disappoint! The kids had a blast spending the week with Grandma and Grandpa, all their cousins, skiing, and playing in the snow. This year we started with no snow on the ground and ended with a blizzard that made driving home very tricky. Liam stayed home with Grandma while Callie and I skied. Although it is always hard to be left behind, he loves his Grandma so much and they had an absolute blast together. I'm also realizing that she took all the pictures so I have very few with her...major bummer! We celebrated these 2 boys on this trip.  When there is this many kids, you not only take over the whole run but there it is also very difficult to figure out which way to go.... Grandpa and his gang Pretty soon we won't all fit on one couch. Unfortunately our sister/dad ski day did not go as planned. Sarah took a spill the day before and was not able to ski with us for ...
