11 Months

Time continues to fly. I am a bit behind on this post - 18th is close enough to the 10th right?
Its hard to believe that in one month she will be one year old. This is the best picture we could get - as she now moves around SO much now.
Here's another one that Preston really liked (she was playing peek a boo).
Here's what's new:
  • She now has 5 teeth (almost 6 - just waiting for it to pop out). Two on the bottom and three on top.
  • She is walking and very happy about it. Very rarely does she crawl anywhere.
  • She learned how to stand from a sitting position. She got very tired of walking somewhere, falling down in the middle of the room, then having to crawl over to something to stand up. I think it only took her 3-4 days to figure it out after she learned how to walk.
  • Callie loves to climb things and move things out of her way. She is a very determined little girl (wonder where she gets that?). We can no longer put a piece of furniture in front of something we don't want her to get to....she WILL figure out a way to move it.
  • She is now obsessed with flushing the toilet. Yup, lots of fun!
  • She seems to be growing every day and is very verbal! At least around Preston and I - she's a bit shy in every other situation.
  • She is obsessed with pointing at trees and lights. She'll sit there and point at them and repeat "da" over and over and over and over.
  • She now can now sign please, milk, more, and all done. Still working on thank you.
  • Still no hair!

Now that she can walk, her favorite thing to do is to walk between Preston and I, running into us and giving us big hugs. I found this cute onsie in her drawer - how perfect!

When people come to stay from out of state. it is always a good excuse to see the touristy parts of Washington that you kind of forget about living here. We took a quick trip up to Snoqualmie Falls.

I love that smile!

When I am cooking dinner, she loves to pull things out of the cupboards. When I looked over one day, she had climbed in a was so proud and happy.

Rolling and Reading

Callie rolls ALL over the place!!! One of her favorite places to end up is her bookshelf. Look what I found! As a side note, it looks like one of our cats is finally accepting that Callie is part of the family (or atleast, she isn't going anywhere) and has become very tolerant of her. She lets Callie "pet" her and will even walk up to Callie (which, if you know this cat, is VERY unusual - there are some people who still have never seen her). The other day when I was getting Callie from her nap this was outside her door. Apparently the cat loves Callie enough to bring her toys.

9 Months

It's hard to believe that in 3 months our beautiful daughter will be 1 year old! How fast time flies (and how quickly she changes). Here's some updates (on our very big bug): She weighs in at a whopping 20 lb 13 oz (81% percentile) and continues to be VERY long, measuring in at 29.75 inches (98% percentile). Again, we are not sure who she got that gene from. She now not only can get herself down from the standing position but she also has had a few moments when she has stood totally by herself. On Mother's Day she stood for a good 5 seconds all by herself. Daycare tells us that she now uses other kids heads to help herself stand up (sorry!). She can also walk along the couch or another long piece of furniture. Today I was cooking dinner (Callie is often very content playing in the kitchen with "non toys" while I cook) and I looked over and she was pushing the kitchen chair across the floor. I was so excited, I made her do it again so I could video tape it ...

Another Plane Ride

So, Callie and I spent my spring break in Pennsylvania. It was a wonderful trip and Callie just LOVED being spoiled by all her aunts and uncles, cousins, and grandmas! (she was a bit in shock when we came back home and she was stuck with just mom and dad - she also took a two hour nap the day we got back, which she has never, never (and probably never will again) done, traveling sure is exhausting!). I was a bit nervous about the very long plane ride, but besides not eating at all, Callie did fabulous! Although, she never really did understand why she couldn't grab the people sitting next to us or in front of us. Even though she got sick on the way back, she was still a wonderful traveler. She loved sitting with Grandma and looking out the plane window (yuck!). We met Grandma in Chicago - at that point in time both Grandma and Callie needed a snuggle, so they spent part of our layover cuddling up in the airport. (sorry, I took these with my cell phone) Looking out the ...
