It's hard to believe that one year has passed by so quickly. So many changes have happened this year that it is exciting to think about where we were one year ago to where we are today. God has blessed us with two healthy and amazing kids and a life full of fun, love, and support. It has been such a blessing to be able to be home with Liam and Callie full time. I have been able to witness each 'first' for Liam and the love grow between the 2 of them. I could not imagine a better situation. Here's are crazy goofball one year old! I try really hard each month to get a picture of the 2 of them together but I have yet to actually get one.....since this is his one year post, I feel like I should at least post the best one....ha. O well, I tried! Here's what is new with our big boy: He now weighs 23 lbs and 14 oz (75-90th percentile) and is 31 1/4 inches tall (90-95th percentile) He is walking everywhere! We have been enjoying the sun and some local places to play. With Liam walking our outings are getting much easier and much more fun for everyone involved. Although he requires a lot of following, it is much nicer to be able to not worry about the ground he is crawling on and just let him go. Liam got a new swing for Christmas and thanks to our spring like weather we have already been out to enjoy it. He loves to swing next to his sister and also get pushed by her.  He has a love for bubbles We went to a local gym to play. Liam and Callie had so much fun!  Practicing some flips with dad We also went to a local indoor gym to play. There is a balloon area that both of the kids loved! It is surrounded by fans and filled with balloons - so much fun! We also got to enjoy  a sunny day at the beach. We played on the playground, swung on the swings, made tons of sandcastles, and threw many, many rocks into the ocean.  Throwing rocks in...

So, I am a bit behind, but I guess that is good because it means we are very busy and enjoying/loving life and our family. In the next few days, I will be posting a bunch including Liam's first year pics. We have had some great weekends full of family, relaxation and fun. We visited a local community hiking trail and spent an afternoon enjoying the woods in the middle of the neighborhood.

After taking many steps and falling, this weekend he officially put everything together and started walking. He walks everywhere now - which has made my life a bit easier these days. He loves the independence and lets it be known how much he does not appreciate being picked up while he is trying to get somewhere! He seems to have a love for kitchen utensils and takes them all over the house. If you try to take the  Away he throws a complete fit! (The reason he's carrying around a whisk) 

Time continues to creep up quicker and quicker. Our little boy is now 11 months old with a lot of crazy and exciting changes. He is getting closer and closer to walking. He has taken three or four steps together although it always seems to happen when he is distracted and wanting something.  He is starting to recognize many words now - including hot, bye-bye, kiss, ball, sister, mom, dad, yucky, no, more, all done.  He loves to give kisses to people and wave hello and good bye to people.  He is getting very good at remembering things - if you say a cupboard is yucky, every time he goes back into the kitchen he will point to it and make his yucky sound. If you tell him something is hot, he point to it over and over and make his hot sign.   He loves the cats and will chase them all over the house. He will crawl around the house calling them and looking for them until he finds them hidden under the bed - ha! He is obsessed with putting things into other th...

Hopefully we are officially done with all of this.....Liam had his second surgery to remove a dermoid cyst next to his eyebrow. The surgery went well - He had some trouble coming out of the anesthesia due to some gunk in his lungs but was all snuggles afterwards. Hoping his scar will fade a bit but giving it some time. Waiting for the surgery - we were nervous a bit about how the whole 'no eating before surgery thing' was going to go but he was a rock star.
